FAQ

  • I am interested in therapy - what are the next steps?
First of all: Great that you are reaching out. If you think a cognitive behavioral based approach is the best fit for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch - either via the contact form, phone or e-mail (naomi.guembel@gmail.com). You should receive a reply within 48 hours to set up an initial meeting.
  • What if I cannot afford therapy?
Please do not hesitate to let me know! Therapy should help you in decreasing your distress and not cause you distress. There are a number of needs-based slots and we can explore together what feasible options could be.
  • How long is the therapy? The session as well as the course of therapy?
A therapy session is normally 50min long. An exception to that are exposure sessions, which might be longer, depending on what has been agreed before hand. Cognitive based therapy is a short-term therapy, during which you will work on specific issues that disturb you. In the first few sessions, we will think of an appropriate treatment plan during which we will also discuss the length of therapy. Depending on various factors, the therapy can range from anything between 5 to 25 sessions. This is an estimate and differs from case to case.
  • I can't make it to an appointment / I am running late.
I can't make it to an appointment In case you should not be able to make it to an appointment, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Should you miss the session without informing me before hand, I will have to charge you the full price, unfortunately. I am running late. I will wait for 15 minutes. In case you will not have arrived within those 15 minutes, I will charge you for the appointment. Since I am bound to my schedule, making up for the time after your appointment is not possible, unfortunately.
